Our services: what we have to offer

SRG is a socially responsible employer. It is committed to fair working conditions for its employees and promotes flexible working models. SRG pays particular attention to internal and external training. The benefits listed below apply to employees of the SRG General Management with a collective labour agreement (CLA). The General Management has offices in Bern and Zurich.

Working hours

The weekly working hours for a full-time position at SRG are 40 hours. Employees work in an annual working time model.

Home office / Work Smart

The SRG supports mobile, location-independent work if this is possible and desired by the employees. Thanks to mobile working, employees can organize their work in a flexible and autonomous way. This requires personal responsibility and at the same time promotes quality of life and creativity.

Part-time work

Part-time work is generally possible at SRG and is actively encouraged, even for senior staff. At SRG, more than half of the employees work part-time (i.e. a workload of less than 90 per cent). We no longer advertise positions solely as 100 per cent jobs. The maximum workload is always 80 to 100 per cent. SRG also supports jobsharing and co-lead arrangements.

Arch-shaped career paths

From the age of 58, employees have the right to reduce their employment level by 10 per cent each year. All together, the starting employment level cannot be reduced by more than 50 per cent. The guaranteed income from the SRG SSR pension fund (PKS) can be kept, whereby employer and employee continue to pay their respective contributions on the previous employment level.

Parenthood

SRG grants maternity leave of 18 weeks and paternity leave of four weeks respectively. Parents of the same sex are also entitled to four weeks of leave. In addition, employees have the right to reduce their employment level to 60 per cent in the event of the birth or adoption of a child.

Childcare

Zurich: Employees of the General Management in Zurich can apply for contributions towards extra-familial childcare for their children. The social consulting service Movis is responsible for this.

Advance – Swiss Women in Business

SRG is member of «Advance», a network composed of more than 100 Swiss-based companies committed to continuously increasing the share of women in management – to reach at least 30 per cent by 2030. SRG reached that goal in 2020 and is committed to improve itself even more. Thanks to membership in «Advance», SRG female employees can benefit from offers such as workshops, mentoring and networking events.

Diversity

SRG set up a national Diversity Board in 2020. The Diversity Board advocates for more diversity and more inclusive working conditions in the company. The Board defines the term diversity comprehensively: all employees should be able to work equally – regardless of personal characteristics such as gender, age, origin, religion, sexual orientation, impairment or life models.

SRG has a transparent salary system (see also SRG Annual Report): our remuneration is needs-based, performance-based and market-based.

13th monthly wage

SRG employees can convert all or part of their 13th month's pay into leave every three years.

Equal pay

Pay equity is a central concern for SRG. It is surveyed annually using the Logib instrument and published in the SRG annual report. In addition, SRG signed the "Charter for equal pay" for state-associated companies in November 2019. By joining, SRG is committed to the constitutional principle of "equal pay for work of equal value".

SRG's human resources development encompasses the training and further education of employees as well as other supportive measures such as individual career development, the further development of skills and the long-term maintenance of employability. In principle, staff members have five working days per year for training and further education.

SRG from another perspective

The internal exchange programme at SRG allows our employees to discover our enterprise units from a new perspective – whether in another department or another language area. Furthermore, SRG offers to all employees access to a digital language learning platform to improve their own language skills.

Internal recruitment for managerial roles

SRG promotes its employees and fills management vacancies internally if possible. This succeeds in two out of three cases.

Talent development

SRG wants to discover, promote and use the individual talents and personal strengths of its employees. To this end, it runs an annual talent development programme aimed at committed and talented employees. The programme is a flexible offer of modules and tools that can be individually combined by the participants. Every talent has a different starting point and goes on its own development journey.

Accident insurance

SRG employees are insured with Visana against the consequences of occupational accidents. Employees who work more than eight hours a week are also insured against the consequences of non-occupational accidents. The accident insurance covers the costs of doctors and medicines in the event of an accident, and also the costs of various methods of complementary medicine. Thanks to the supplementary accident insurance, there is comprehensive cost coverage in the event of hospitalisation.

Occupational pension scheme

Employees who have reached the age of 19 are insured against old age, death and disability with the SRG Pension Fund (PKS). The PKS offers - in addition to a well-developed pension plan with a cost sharing by the employer above average - early insurance and a voluntary savings contribution of two per cent. Retirement is possible after reaching the age of 58, as is partial retirement with continuation of the work activity with a reduced workload. The PKS also advises employees on all matters relating to their occupational pension plans.

Occupational health management

SRG attaches great importance to occupational safety and protects the health of its employees. Supported by professional occupational health management, SRG offers a wide range of activities and services, some of which have been developed in partnership with regional healthcare commissions and sports clubs.

Sports activities

Bern: the SRG Bern Sports Club offers employees in Bern a wide range of sports activities: from guided running training and swimming courses to yoga and Pilates. A fitness room is also available.

Zurich: the SRF Sport and Leisure Club offers activities in five sport disciplines: leisure, football, golf, tennis and table tennis.
