Cost-saving measures

Due to the Coronavirus pandemic and declining commercial revenues, SRG is forced to implement a new savings plan of CHF 50 million between 2021 and 2024. About 250 jobs are expected to be cut during this period.
Charges of harassment at RTS and RSI

At the end of October, allegations of harassment and unacceptable behaviour become public in various Swiss media - first at RTS and later also at RSI. At the beginning of November, the SRG Board of Directors launches independent investigations to analyse the cases and review the existing instruments and internal processes. Based on the results, it decides in April 2021 on a comprehensive catalogue of measures to protect the personal integrity of the employees.
The new SRG streaming platform Play Suisse

On 7 November the national streaming platform Play Suisse goes live. Play Suisse offers Swiss documentary films, series and films from all four language regions – in original version and with German, French, Italian and sometimes also Romansh subtitles. Play Suisse is available as a web application or as an application on smartphones, tablets, desktops (playsuisse.ch) and smart-TV.
SRG turns 90

SRG turns 90 on 24 February. Due to the pandemic, no party celebration takes place, but an anniversary collection is published on the streaming platform Play Suisse. The collection gives an insight into the multifaceted history of the media company and Switzerland's past since the SRG was founded in 1931.

Collaboration charter
SRG wishes to better protect the personal integrity of its employees. To this end, it is drawing up a charter that sets out nine principles of conduct for successful cooperation. Employees from all enterprise units have taken part in the drafting of the charter.
Conclusion of the CLA negotiations

SRG and the social partner Syndikat Schweizer Medienschaffender (SSM) successfully agree on a new Collective Labour Agreement (CLA) in December, which will come into force in January 2022. In addition to an increase in parental leave, the new CLA also regulates home office, among other things. From now on, mobile and location-independent work will be possible for all SRG staff.
75 years of Swiss Solidarity
Swiss Solidarity celebrates its 75th anniversary from 12 to 17 December with the support of SRG and organises a solidarity week. Since her foundation in 1946, Swiss solidarity has collected almost two billion Swiss francs.
100 years of radio and the new Radio Hall

The radio celebrates its 100 years anniversary this year. To thank listeners for their loyalty, RTS organises various events and special programmes throughout the year. In the same year, the Brunnenhof radio studio in Zurich becomes history - the SRF 1, SRF 3, SRF Virus, SRF Musikwelle radios and "Regionaljournal ZH SH" move to the new Radio Hall at the Zurich Leutschenbach site in August 2022.
